Diversity and Inclusion Statement

Endeavour Volleyball Club is deeply committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for all members, aligning with Volleyball NSW’s Club Licensing System Regulations, particularly Criteria G06 on Diversity and Inclusion. We also embrace Volleyball Australia’s vision of “Integrity – Protecting Volleyball Together,” understanding that true integrity in sport rests on safety, fairness, and inclusivity for everyone.

Our Philosophy:

We believe volleyball is a sport for all, free from discrimination based on background, ability, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, or any other characteristic. Guided by our Technical Director, our club philosophy emphasizes respect, equality, and opportunity, creating a welcoming space where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered to participate, contribute, and thrive.

Commitment to a Safe, Fair, and Inclusive Environment:

Diversity and inclusion are core to delivering a safe and fair experience for all. We uphold the highest standards of integrity by adhering to Volleyball Australia’s National Integrity Framework, including:

  • Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy.
  • Member Protection Policy.
  • Improper Use of Drugs and Medicine Policy.
  • Competition Manipulation and Sport Gambling Policy.

These policies, along with the underpinning Complaints, Disputes and Discipline Policy and the Code of Conduct Policy, protect individuals from discrimination, harassment, abuse, bullying, or vilification, promoting overall well-being in our club. We maintain zero tolerance for such behaviors, in line with Volleyball NSW’s inclusion principles.

Education and Awareness:

To embed this commitment in our culture, we implement comprehensive programs:

  • All players, staff, and members will receive and have access to this Diversity and Inclusion Statement.
  • We ensure all administration, technical coaching staff, and players complete mandatory integrity courses per Criterion CD03, including Sport Integrity – National Integrity Framework and Play By The Rules – Harassment & Discrimination.
  • Coaches (Level 2 and above) will complete the Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction and PBTR – Harassment and Discrimination courses. We proactively encourage all coaches to participate in the PBTR Inclusive Coaching module.
  • Upon request, we will provide confirmation that all players and technical staff are aware of and adhere to key policies, including the National Integrity Framework, VA Member Protection Policy, Anti-Doping Policy, Competition Manipulation and Sports Wagering Policy, Code of Conduct, and Complaints, Disputes and Discipline Policy.

Leadership and Oversight:

Our Governing Members/Board of Directors oversees the development, implementation, and regular review of this statement. Club Management and the Technical Director integrate it across all activities, including our Youth Development Program for Under 14 to Under 18 athletes, ensuring accessible pathways for athletes from all backgrounds.

Proactive Promotion, Accessibility, and Monitoring:

We actively promote referee and coach development to boost participation from diverse groups. Through Corporate Social Responsibility Programs, we build community ties, strengthen our volunteer base, and host grassroots activities welcoming all societal segments. To measure progress, we will conduct annual surveys, track diversity metrics in membership and leadership, and establish feedback mechanisms for continuous improvement.

By upholding these commitments, Endeavour Volleyball Club strives to exceed best practices in diversity and inclusion, contributing to volleyball’s growth in New South Wales and creating an equitable, empowering community for all.
