PREMIER LEAGUE VOLLEYBALL (PLV)

About Premier League Volleyball

Premier League Volleyball is the highest level of club competition in New South Wales, designed to showcase the sport at its most competitive and professional level. This elite league brings together the top clubs, players, and coaches from across the state in a structured, high-performance environment.

The League features eight licensed clubs, who will compete in Men’s and Women’s Premier divisions, as well as Reserves and Under 18s competitions. These divisions provide a complete pathway for athlete development and ensure a strong talent pipeline through the next generation of volleyball players.

Conducted over the winter season, the League follows a round-robin format, concluding in a Finals Series to determine the Premier League Champions. Please note, Premier League Volleyball is a standalone competition and is separate from the Sydney Volleyball League (SVL); there is no promotion or relegation between the two.

The Premier League idea was established in 2024 following extensive community consultation. Its purpose is to provide a high-performance platform for elite participants, while supporting long-term growth and professionalism in the sport. The League forms the top tier of Volleyball NSW’s three-tier competitive structure:

•      Premier League Volleyball (PLV): Elite competition for top-performing clubs.
•      Sydney Volleyball League (SVL): Developmental, accessible, and competitive.
•       Social Tiers: Entry-level and community-based participation.
